eCops Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why can't I log in?

A1: Your username is your email address. Your password was set when you joined. Check both are correctly spelt and note your password is cases sensitive.
A2: Try entering or omitting the PNN part of your email address.
A3: Find your log in details in your activation email sent from
A4: Click the activation lick in your activation email, until you do you cannot log in.
A5: Confirm your annual subscription has not expired.
A6: If none of the above, click the ‘Forgotten password’ link.

Question: I have logged in but why won’t eCops operate?

A1: On login a green message indicating success appears and the navigation buttons at the top of the page update to a logged in state. In the absence of those indicators, you haven’t logged in. Try including the www in the address bar every time you visit the site.

Question: Can eCops provide eBay customer addresses?

A1: No. eCops has no direct access to eBay’s customer database. Item locations are taken from eBay’s listing information. To obtain the customers address, please send a Data Protection Act request to eBay via the Law Enforcement tab on the Safety Centre.

Question: Is training provided?

A1: Yes. Full training videos are provided free in the member’s area of eCops. Members may request a training visit but a fee is chargeable.

Question: Is the site secure?

A1: Yes. The site is secure to the same exacting standards as online banking. It sits on a dedicated server, in a Maidenhead UK data centre. Access is by username and password. Everything is server side so no files are downloaded into you own computer.

Question: What information can eBay & PayPal provide?

A1: Guides are provided free in the members 'Courses and Guides' area.

Question: Can I try before I buy?

A1: 30-Day free trial application form is at the foot of the home page.

Question: How can I pay?

A1: Payment is by BACS electronic transfer or cheque. We will forward an invoice containing all the necessary details. Debit card, Credit card or PayPal payments cannot be accepted.
